MUSA AMAN MUST DECLARE ASSET?

The Sabah DAP state chief cum the Member of Parliament for Kota Kinabalu, Dr. Hiew King Cheu, today called upon the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Musa Aman to follow the foot-step of the Selangor Menteri Besar, Tan sri Khalid and the members of his Selangor Exco, to declare his personal asset to allow the people of Sabah to evaluate his transparency, integrity, and honesty during his term of office. This move will act to clear his name for any alleged and linked mil and corrupt practice.
This is not an indicator that a person had abused his power, but it is necessary as an instrument to check that a person is clear of any abuses and mil practice, especially those in the government. The Sabah government had strongly proposed the exercise in the past, and during the early term of office of the present Chief Minister. Some had declared their assets, including the Chief Minister himself, but very unfortunately the action had stopped until now. Until now he has been in office for quite a number of years, we really want to see the changes in the wealth of a Sabah Chief Minister. The figures published should be true and real.

The declaration of one’s personal asset will definitely clear his name, and any alleged accusation towards any associated corrupt practice. The recent UMNO election is a real life example where so many high ranking members were caught by their disciplinary committee. They were either being suspended in membership or denied the right to contest in the party election. The MACC should take action, and request all evidence on corrupt practice and mil practice from UMNO for action to be taken, especially those who are still in the government high position.

The good example set by the Selangor Menteri Besar, Tansri Khalid and his Exco is highly to be recommended. This will demonstrate to the people the degree of integrity that they believe in and shall be up hold. It is very easy to be corrupted when holding an important and powerful post like the Chief Minister, Menteri Besar, and Ministers.

The Sabah Chief Minister and all his Cabinet Ministers should lead a good example by giving details of their personal asset and income starting from the day of commencing on their respective portfolio until now.
