No indication of Sarawak election any time soon

KUALA LUMPUR: There is still no indication of the Sarawak state election any time soon as Chief Minister Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud steered clear from the issue when he spoke at the launch of the “Lan Berambeh” event last night.
Instead, he delved on the state’s development strides and transformation as espoused under the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP).
The much anticipated indication at the function organised by Persatuan Anak Sarawak Semenanjung at the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn Bhd (MTDC) Technology Centre, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang last night culminated into a less exalted occasion.
Taib asked the people of Sarawak to unite regardless of race and religion as it would help enhance the state’s economy.
He said more high-income jobs would be created in Sarawak, particularly through the development of the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy and students should choose the right courses to seize the opportunities that await them. — Bernama
